RIVER FALLS, Wis. / ST. PETER, Minn. - Wartburg women's tennis split a pair of matches on Saturday, March 27 when it defeated the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 8-1 and then fell to Gustavus Adolphus College 9-0. 

The Knights (14-4) will concluded their weekend road trip tomorrow, March 28 when they travel to Bloomington, Minn. for a matchup against St. Catherine University (4-1, 3-1 MIAC) with first serve set for 12:30 p.m. 

The Orange & Black took home an 8-1 victory in the first contest of the day against UW-River Falls. Wartburg garnered a 2-1 lead after doubles play when it came away victorious at the No. 2 and three positions. The Knights then dropped just one set in all of the singles matches en route to a 6-0 sweep.

Ambriel Jacobs, Georgia Nissen and Rebekah Corson all tallied two wins during the contest. Madison Overmann recorded her seventh singles victory at the No. 1 position and Olivia Phillips earned her team-high 10th win. Freshman Bailey VanDusseldorp continued her winning streak when she upended her opponent at the No. 6 singles position.

In the second match of the day, the Knights had a tough go of it and fell to Gustavus by a score of 9-0. Wartburg is now 65-42 in singles and 34-17 in doubles.
