MOUNT VERNON, Iowa - Wartburg men's tennis took down Cornell College 7-2 on Sunday, March 28 to notch its fourth straight victory and third of the weekend.
The Knights (7-9, 1-1 A-R-C) will return to American Rivers Conference action on Tuesday, April 6 when they host the University of Dubuque (2-9, 0-3 A-R-C) at 3:30 p.m.
The Orange & Black jumped out to an early 3-0 lead when they came away with all three victories in doubles. Junior
Lucas Huffman improved to 12-4 at the No. 1 singles position when he downed his opponent in straight sets. Freshman
Cade Davis also had an impressive weekend as he finished 3-0, including a straight-set win over the Rams.
Nile Petersen and
Jared Hefel wrapped up the match for Wartburg with wins at the No. 5 and six spots.
