WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg women's tennis will open its nonconference spring schedule on Friday, March 5 when they travel to Sioux City, Iowa to face off with Morningside College at 5:30 p.m. before heading to Owatonna, Minn. on Saturday, March 6 to take on Hamline University at 1 p.m.
The contest against Hamline will mark just the second time the two programs have met all-time with the first meeting coming back in 2019. The match against Morningside will also be just the second overall meeting as the Knights defeated the Mustangs 5-4 during the 2013 season.
Wartburg (10-1, 7-1 A-R-C) will compete for the first time since Oct. 31, 2020 when they defeated Loras College 5-4 in the final American Rivers Conference matchup of the season. The Knights finished the fall conference season in second place and will have the number two seed in the A-R-C automatic qualifying tournament later this spring.

Sydney Rottinghaus led the Orange & Black in the fall with a team-high seven wins in singles. The senior duo of Rottinghaus and
Sydney Powers paced the Knights in doubles with a team-best eight victories. As a whole, Wartburg is 46-17 in singles play and 23-8 in doubles.
The Mustangs enter the match with a 3-4 record with wins over Grand View University, Buena Vista University and Northwestern College. Morningside is 1-2 in its spring season and are on a one-game losing skid. Shelain Lewis has recorded a team-best 7-3 record in singles while Emily Clotfelter paces the team in doubles with a 5-4 ledger.
Hamline is yet to compete in this academic year and finished last season with a 0-6 record before its season came to a halt due to COVID-19. The Pipers' roster consists of two seniors, two juniors, one sophomore and six first-year players.
Attendance Policy
All fans attending an event at any Morningside athletic facility are required to wear a mask for the event's duration and until they've left the premises.
No fans will be allowed at the contest against Hamline, per school policy.
