Knights Prepare For Tests Against Loras, Central

WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg women's soccer will look to remain undefeated this week during a pair of matches against Loras College on Tuesday, April 13 and Central College on Saturday, April 17. The Knights are a perfect 4-0 and are yet to conceive a goal.

Last Time Out
Wartburg kept a clean sheet for the fourth time in just as many matches when it downed Simpson College, 1-0 on Saturday, April 10. Junior defender Sarah Campbell of Waverly scored the game-winner at the 25th minute mark, tallying her first of the season on a shot from deep on the right side that carried over the reach of the Simpson netminder.

The Knights did not allow a shot from the Storm in the first 45 minutes, heading into the break with the 1-0 advantage. In the second half, Simpson tallied four shots and created a pair of corner-kick chances, but the Wartburg defense held strong for its fourth consecutive shutout.

Season Stats
The Knights are averaging 4.25 tallies per game on 27.5 shots with a shot on goal percentage of 45.5%. Five Knights pace Wartburg with two goals while junior Campbell has posted a team-high two assists. Netminder Marissa Lopez has started in all the matches this season and is yet to allow a goal and has made five saves. 

Loras College
The Duhawks come into the match following a 9-0 victory over Buena Vista University. Loras has compiled a 5-0 record this season and are outscoring its opponents 18-1. The Duhawks have recorded an average of 36.4 shots and a shot on goal percentage of 50.5%. 

Emily Perhats has recorded a team-high six goals and 13 points this season. Payton McDonnell has posted a team-best nine assists for a total of 11 points. Netminder Kyndal Kells has appeared in all of the matches this season and has allowed one goal with a save percentage of 88.9%. 

Central College 
The Dutch will compete against Nebraska Wesleyan on Tuesday, April 13 before heading to Waverly for their contest against the Knights. Central has defeated Coe College, 1-0 for its only victory of the season. The Dutch have recorded an average of eight shots per game with a shot on goal percentage of 43.8%. 

Abby Frey has recorded a team-high two goals and four points this season while Katie Wang has posted a team-best two assists. Netminder Leann Grandia has appeared in all of the matches this season and has allowed seven tallies with a save percentage of 74.1%.
