WAVERLY, Iowa - Wartburg women's tennis will compete against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Wednesday, April 14 in a nonconference match that is set to begin at 4 p.m. inside the Hoover Fieldhouse in Waverly. The contest will mark the first time the programs have met since the 2013 season.Â
Spectators are permitted to attend Wartburg outdoor athletic events and are required to follow campus masking and social distancing guidelines. Fans must all wear face masks outdoors when we cannot absolutely guarantee a physical distance of at least six feet from others. Details HERE.Â

Sydney Rottinghaus' win at the No. 4 singles position gave Wartburg its only points of the weekend. Rottinghaus was named the American Rivers Conference Women's Tennis Player of the Week for her performance.Â

Olivia Phillips leads the Knights with an 11-8 ledger in both doubles and singles.
Madison Overmann is close behind in the doubles competition with a 10-6 tally and has played at the No. 1 singles position all year and has totaled seven wins. As a team, Wartburg is 66-50 in singles and 34-23 in doubles.Â
The UW-La Crosse Eagles come into the contest with a 6-2 record as they did not compete in the fall. The Eagles' two losses are against UW-Eau Claire 7-2 and Beloit 9-0. In their wins, the Eagles are outscoring their opponents 53-1. Kimberly Steinert paces UW-La Crosse with a 7-1 tally at the No. 1 singles position and a 6-2 record at No. 1 doubles. Hannah Riegle has also only lost one match this season at the No. 3 singles spot.Â
