DUBUQUE, Iowa - The No. 15-ranked Wartburg College softball team defeated Loras College 9-0 Sunday afternoon to earn the series sweep over the Duhawks.
During the Knights' final American Rivers Conference road series, they outscored the Duhawks 30-3 and extended their winning streak to six games.
The Orange & Black tallied its eighth shutout of the season in the series finale at Loras while senior first baseman

Starting pitcher
Tarah Wehde pitched a five-inning shutout, allowing four Duhawk base hits while improving her record to 6-2 on the year.
Wartburg tallied nine runs off eight hits, scoring runs in each of the first four innings en route to securing the victory on the eight-run rule.
A sacrifice fly from
Olivia Brecht and Sherwood's homer led to an early 2-0 Wartburg lead. RBI doubles from
Sydney Fellows and
Lauren Frerichs along with a two-run bomb from
Madison Stoaks extended the Knights' lead to 6-0 after the second inning.
In the third inning, Wartburg recorded its sixth homer of the weekend as
Leah Campos' second of the year gave the visitors a 7-0 lead. A Stoaks RBI double and RBI groundout from Brecht put nine runs on the board for the Knights.
Up next, Wartburg hosts Coe College May 8-9 at Lynes Field for its final regular season series of 2021, battling for the top spot in the conference.
