The Knights earned a hard-fought 0-0 draw against Dominican University (Ill.) in their last contest Sunday, Sept. 12 in La Crosse, Wis. The match had 30 total shots in regulation, but none found the net for either team. Wartburg would dominate both overtime periods in shots, including two shots on goal late in the second overtime that were saved to seal a 0-0 draw.
Marissa Lopez played the full game in goal for the Knights and recorded nine saves to keep Dominican scoreless.
University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire
The Blugolds enter this match with a record of 2-1-2 and a win in their last contest. In that last match, Wisconsin-Eau Claire defeated the College of Saint Benedict (Minn.) 2-0. UW-Eau Claire would only attempt seven shots in that match but were able to score two goals off those opportunities. Wartburg faced Saint Benedict earlier this season and won that matchup 4-0 on the road. The Blugolds are paced offensively by Megan Hansen who has five points off two goals and one assist so far this season.
Wartburg has dominated the series between the schools and enter Wednesday's match with a 10-0-1 all-time record against the Blugolds, including a 3-2 win in their last matchup in Eau Claire in 2019.
