CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa—For the second time this season, Wartburg Volleyball has swept the American Rivers Conference weekly honors.
Senior
Katie Foster earned her second Defensive Player of the Week honors, after helping to lead the Knights to a 4-0 week, bringing their overall record to 8-0. The libero from Charles City, IA, tallied 84 digs and no defensive errors over the four matches. Additionally, she dealt four service aces. In competition last week, Wartburg swept two ranked opponents, No.22 Augsburg (4-4) and No.13 UW-Eau Claire (8-1), with Foster tallying 15 digs in both games. Foster was named Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 7, 2021.
Senior
Kylie Bildstein was named Offensive Player of the Week, as Wartburg defeated Grinnell (3-1), No. 22 Augsburg (3-0), No. 13 UW-Eau Claire (3-0), and St. Olaf (3-0). Bildstein recorded 43 kills in the four-game span. In games against Augsburg and UW-Eau Claire, Bildstein had 10 kills and 9 kills respectively. Bildstein was named Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 7, 2021.
Next Match
The Knights open American Rivers Conference action on Sept. 15 as they travel to Buena Vista. The Knights are slated to have first serve at 7:30 p.m. in Storm Lake, Iowa.
