#13 Women's Soccer to Open A-R-C Play at Home

WAVERLY, Iowa – #13 Wartburg women's soccer (6-1-1) is in action at Salzwedel Field Saturday, Sept. 25 as they open American Rivers Conference play against the University of Dubuque at 4 p.m.

Last Time Out
The Knights were beat for the first time this season in their last competition. Wartburg fell 1-0 to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Tuesday, Sept. 21 in a tough regionally ranked matchup. The Knights had scoring chances late in the game but struggled to convert opportunities into shots on goal.

Marissa Lopez played the full game in net for the Orange and Black and recorded six saves. The only goal allowed came from an own goal in the second half. Offensively, Katie Berglund recorded the only shot on goal for the Knights and had two total shots.
 
University of Dubuque
The Spartans come into the contest with a record of 4-3 and also open A-R-C play Saturday. In its last match, Dubuque was defeated by Knox College 3-0.  

The Spartans are led offensively by Brooke Brodzinski, who has recorded seven points in seven games from two goals and three assists. Dubuque's goalkeeper, Candence Martindale, has logged 628 minutes in goal and has a save percentage of 76.2%.

The last matchup between the schools came in the spring 2021 season when Wartburg defeated Dubuque 1-0 in Dubuque. The all-time series record between the two are 18-5-2 in favor of the Knights.
