St. Ambrose University
The Fighting Bees will open its 2021 season with the upcoming match against Wartburg on Sunday, Sept. 5 at 10 a.m. Last season St. Ambrose was 8-8 and 4-3 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC) play. The Bee's season was ended in the CCAC tournament semifinals where they fell to Cardinal Stritch University. The last matchup between Wartburg and St. Ambrose came in 2020 where Wartburg won 5-4 in the home match.
Minnesota St. University-Mankato
Minnesota St. will open its season Saturday, Sept. 4 at Luther for a doubles dual and an exhibition match. The Mavericks will follow this by traveling to Waverly to face the Knights at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 5. The Mavericks are coming off a tough 2020 season where they went 2-14. The last match between Wartburg and Minnesota St. was in the 2018-19 season and it resulted in a 8-1 victory at home for the Knights.
Madison Overmann picked up a win in the fifth singles spot in that last matchup.
