WAVERLY, Iowa – Wartburg women's tennis continued its 2021 season Sunday, Sept. 5 with a split in matches against Saint Ambrose University and Minnesota St. University-Mankato.
The Knights began the day with a 9-0 sweep of the St. Ambrose Fighting Bee's, which is back-to-back 9-0 victories to start the season.
The Orange & Black used the same lineup as from Wednesday's sweep and earned a similar result by winning all matches in straight sets against St. Ambrose. In addition to the six listed matches,
Georgia Nissen and
Ambriel Jacobs both picked up singles wins.
The duo of
Olivia Phillips and
Madison Overmann earned a victory in the one spot in doubles and
Georgia Nissen made her 2021 doubles debut partnering with
Alyssa Guse to earn a 8-2 victory in the three position.

In the later dual, Wartburg fell to Minnesota St. 0-9 for its first defeat of the season.

Gabby Flynn and
Natalie Kaiser were able to win a set in their respective matches, but both eventually lost two sets to one. Overmann and Phillips were edged in a close match at the number one doubles spot 8-7.
