CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Drew Olson was named Male Athlete of the Week and Men's Basketball Player of the Week by the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C), having led the Knights to a 2-0 record over A-R-C opponents this past week.
The senior guard tied his career-high in points, with 26, as he led the Knights to an 80-75 win over Central College on Wednesday, Jan. 5. Olson shot 71.4% from the field and 80% from three in the contest, while adding six rebounds.
In their last contest, Wartburg defeated Nebraska Wesleyan University 81-65 and Olson tied his own school record for steals in a game with eight. The Osage, Iowa native led all scorers in the game with 19 points while shooting 66.7% from the field and 60% from beyond the arc.
Olson currently leads the A-R-C in steals this season, averaging 3.7 per game, and ranks in the top-five among the conference in scoring, assists per game, and three-point percentage.
The Knights are in action next on Wednesday, Jan. 12 at Levick Arena against Coe College with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
