No. 14/16 Wartburg Hosts Simpson

WAVERLY, Iowa- The No. 14/16 Wartburg football team (8-0 overall, 6-0 A-R-C) hosts Simpson (1-7, 1-5) in the annual Senior Day Saturday at 1 p.m. The Football senior class will be recognized before the game.
 
The Series
Wartburg holds the all-time series lead at 47-27-2.

The Knights broke an 80-year old school record last week with their fifth shutout of the season. The previous mark was four set in 1942.
 
Senior Hunter Clasen leads the team with 818 yards on the ground and 12 touchdowns. Senior Nile McLaughlin (Eldridge) has thrown for 1,885 yards and 18 touchdowns.
 
Drake George leads the receivers with 410 yards, and Thomas Butters (Kalona) leads the group with four TD catches.
 
Ben Bryant, who set the season record for punt return yards last year, leads the team with 15 punt returns for 293 yards. He also has 279 rushing yards for three touchdown, and 141 receiving yards for two touchdowns.
 
Senior Owen Grover leads the defense with 55 tackles, and junior Nate Link (Eldridge) follows with 49 tackles.
 
Senior Jordan Downing leads the team with 12.5 TFLs, and 8.0 sacks.
