WAVERLY, Iowa --The No. 14/16 Wartburg football team (9-0 overall, 7-0 A-R-C) defeated Simpson (1-8, 1-6) 81-9 Saturday. The Knights tied the school record for points, which was previously set against Loras on Nov. 15, 2014.
 
Top performers

• Hunter Clasen had 136 yards on the ground and three touchdowns.
• Austin Griffin had 122 yards and three TDs.
• Nile McLaughlin threw for 83 yards and one TD.
• Drake George was the top receiver with five catches for 25 yards
• Owen Grover and Colin Schrader both had an interception
• Grover, Justin Grieff, and Trent Polley all had five total tackles
• Grieff led the defense with 3.5 TFLs for a loss of 16 yards
• Grieff and Grover each had one sack.

• This was Clasen's fourth-straight 100-yard game, and sixth time in the last seven games.
• Career-high yards for Griffin
• First 100-yard game for Griffin's career
• The nine rushing touchdowns broke the school record. Previous mark was seven set against Buena Vista on Oct. 31, 2015
• Defensively, the Knights held the Storm to 35 rushing yards
• Defensively, the Orange and Black have still not surrendered a touchdown in the first half to date
• Wartburg has won its last 17 home contests, which dates back to September 29th, 2018 when Simpson defeated the Knights 37-36 in overtime.
• Wartburg is 51-4 in the last 10 season at Walston-Hoover Stadium
• The Knights have gone 50 games without losing at home in regulation. The last home Wartburg loss in regulation was to Coe on November 2, 2013 (24-10).
