WAVERLY, Iowa—With a six-game winning streak in hand, the Wartburg College Knights Softball squad hits the road for a doubleheader against the Washington University-St. Louis Bears on March 13. The Knights and Bears are slated to have first pitch at 12 p.m. in St. Louis.

Senior Katie Gould leads the team with 10 runs this season, with 20 at bats. Gould has recorded eight hits, three RBIs, and seven stolen bases. Maggie Baumstark adds seven runs, second in the team, with a .421 hitting percentage.
 
Jordan Rossi leads the team in ERA (2.21) while the Bears pitching allows 2.80 ERA with 31 hits.

Kaylie Springer recorded 15 runs in the opening week of the season for the Knights, with 20 hits on 41 at bats (.488 hitting percentage). Springer recorded 23 stolen bases in the opening week, leading the Knights in the category. Sydney Fellows leads the team in RBIs (12).

With 16 IP, Madison Heistand leads the team in ERA (.88) while Carly Salutric (21 IP) has an ERA of 1.00. The Knights pitching has a 1.12 ERA and recorded 45 strikeouts in the opening week of play.
 
Weekly Honors

Sweeping the second series of weekly honors, Springer and  Salutric have been named Softball Position and Pitcher of the Week by the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C).

Springer also was named A-R-C Female Athlete of the Week.

Salutric recorded a complete game and a shutout in the Knights win over Adrian in five innings.
