ST. LOUIS, Mo.—Olivia Brecht opened the second game of the day with a home run, her first of the season as the Wartburg Knights softball squad fell in a doubleheader this afternoon against the Washington University-St. Louis Bears.
The Knights dropped the first game 7-2 as Brecht and
Sydney Illg scored on a
Lauren Frerichs 2 RBI triple.
Tarah Wehde stole home while
Sydney Fellows scored on a Kailey Maskim single.
In game one, the Knights recorded two runs on five hits.
Lauren Reicks recorded one strikeout in the first game.
In game two, Wehde recorded two strikeouts. The Knights recorded seven hits, including Brecht 2-of-4 at the plate. Fellows recorded two hits on two at bats, while Wehde went 1-of-3 at bat.
The Knights return to action on March 19 as they travel to the Pioneer Classic.
