Men's Tennis Win 7-2 at Home and Tie Team Wins Record

WAVERLY, Iowa – Men's tennis hosted its first home dual of the spring season at Hoover Fieldhouse on Wednesday, Mar. 23 and defeated Cornell College 7-2. The Knights are now 16-7 overall and the win ties the program record for wins in a season by a team.
 
The Orange & Black got the dual underway with a sweep of doubles play. The teams of Lucas Huffman/Jackson Eells, Griffin Steiniger/AJ Wilkins and Nile Petersen/Kyle Sehlin all picked up wins in doubles for the Knights.
 
Wartburg went 4-2 in singles play only dropping wins at the second and sixth position. Huffman secured his 13th win in the number one position with his win today. Steiniger, Wilkins, and Joseph Haag all won in singles play to help close out the 7-2 win.
 
Next Time Out
The Orange & Black will be in action again on Saturday, Mar. 26 in Indianola, Iowa for an American Rivers Conference matchup with Simpson and a non-conference dual with Northwestern College (Iowa).
