Men's Tennis Win 8-1 at Home

WAVERLY, Iowa – Wartburg men's tennis secured an 8-1 victory over Buena Vista University on Saturday, Apr. 30 for another American Rivers Conference win. The Orange & Black are 22-8 overall and move to 4-2 in A-R-C play.
 
The Knights swept doubles play to start the dual and in the third doubles position, Joseph Haag and Hunter Gerhardt teamed up for just the second time this season. Lucas Huffman and Jackson Eells won their 15th number one doubles matchup of the season today.  Cade Davis and Griffin Steiniger moved to 7-1 in the number two doubles spot after today's win.
 
Both Huffman and AJ Wilkins defeated their singles opposition without giving up a point. Eells, Kyle Sehlin and Jeff Miller all picked up singles wins today in route to an 8-1 win.

Huffman is closing in on two more school records this season as he is two number one doubles wins from breaking the all-time mark of 52 wins set by Tom Koenen. The senior is two singles wins short of tying Koenen's single-season singles wins record of 20 set during the 2008-09 season. 
 
Next Time Out
The Knights are in action at home again tomorrow, May 1 when they host Nebraska Wesleyan University and Loras College beginning at 11:30 a.m. in Waverly.
