Women's Tennis Back in Action on Saturday

WAVERLY, Iowa – Women's tennis is back in action this weekend with an away dual against Martin Luther College on Saturday, Apr. 9 and then is on the road against the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Wednesday, Apr. 13.
 
Saturday, Apr. 9 – 2:00 p.m. – New Ulm, Minn.
Wartburg Knights (11-12, 4-4 A-R-C) vs Martin Luther Knights (0-6, 0-2)
 
Wednesday, Apr. 13 – 4:00 p.m. – La Crosse, Wis. 
Wartburg Knights (11-12, 4-4 A-R-C) vs UW-La Crosse Eagles (12-2, 4-2)

Last Time Out
The Knights defeated the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 6-3 in their last competition back on Saturday, Mar. 19.
 
The teams of Meadow LaDuke/Natalie Kaiser, Georgia Nissen/Chihiro Ono, and Bailey Sinnwell/Gracie O'Donnell all won in doubles play to help secure the win over UW-River Falls.
 
LaDuke and Kaiser both finished the day 2-0 in singles and teamed up for two doubles wins in the number one spot.
 
Season Leaders
Kaiser has the most singles wins so far this season with an overall record of 14-7 and leads the team with nine wins in the number two position. LaDuke has played 14 games at number one singles and has a record of 8-6 for the Knights.
 
As a duo, Kaiser and LaDuke are 10-6 overall in doubles and eight of those wins came at the number one position. The team of Sinnwell and O'Donnell are 3-1 overall and 2-0 in the number two spot.
 
Martin Luther College
The Knights of Martin Luther College enter the weekend with an 0-6 record. The last time out for Martin Luther College was at home against the University of Wisconsin-Superior where they lost 7-2.
 
Sarah Hoffe leads the team with three singles wins and a record of 3-2 in the fifth position.

UW-La Crosse
The Eagles have won eight straight entering the weekend and are 12-2 overall. will be in action twice before Wednesday's matchup with Wartburg. 

Kimberly Steinert is 11-2 in number one singles and is 19-3 overall for the Eagles. There are seven athletes with at least 10 singles wins for UW-La Crosse.
 
Series History
Saturday will mark the second all-time matchup between these programs. Wartburg won the first matchup over Martin Luther 8-1 during the 2018-19 season.
