Ella Link hit a late two-run home run in the 14th inning as the Wartburg College Softball Knights (29-12) defeated the Nebraska Wesleyan University Prairie Wolves, 2-0.
Sydney Illg (1-of-5) tied the school record for most career runs scored on Link's homer.
Ashley Nelson broke the school record for most innings pitched, pitching 11 of the 14 innings in today's game. Nelson had five strikeouts and allowed five hits in the game. Alongside Nelson,
Madison Hiestand broke the school record for most innings pitched in a game as the Knights pitched 14 innings.
The Knights pitching did not allow a hit until the sixth inning.
Link (2-of-6) moves into possession of the No. 4 spot of home runs in a season, scoring her twelfth home run today. On the career side, Link moves into a tie for ninth with 15 home runs.
The Knights will play the winner of game five today. Nebraska Wesleyan plays the winner of the game 4 between Illinois Wesleyan and Saint Benedict.
