Wartburg Announces 2021-22 Department Awards

WAVERLY, Iowa—Wartburg Athletics has announced its department awards for the 2021-22 academic year, as selected by the faculty athletic committee, in partnership with coaches and the athletic committee.

Chellevold Award – Kylie Bildstein (Sr., Dyersville, Iowa) and Katie Foster (Sr., Charles City, Iowa)

The Chellevold Award is given to the outstanding senior female student-athlete selected by the faculty athletic committee. The selection is based on athletic achievement, scholarship and attitude.

Bildstein graduated with a 3.95 GPA as a business administration major with a public health and leadership double minor. She was a Second-team AVCA All-American, AVCA All-Region honoree, named conference MVP, and First-team All-Conference. Bildstein helped the Knights to the first undefeated regular season in school history, and seventh-straight American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) regular season championship. Wartburg hosted the NCAA Tournament for the first time in the Levick Arena era and were ranked as high as No. 4 in the Top 25 poll. For her efforts in the classroom, she received CoSIDA First-team Academic All-America honors.

Foster graduated with a 3.89 GPA as a public health major and business minor. She was a First-team AVCA All-American, AVCA Regional Player of the Year, named conference MVP, and First-team All-Conference. Foster helped the Knights to the first undefeated regular season in school history, and seventh-straight American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) regular season championship. Wartburg hosted the NCAA Tournament for the first time in the Levick Arena era and were ranked as high as No. 4 in the Top 25 poll. Hertel Award- Drew Olson (Sr., Osage, Iowa) and Aubrie Fisher (Jr., Ackley, Iowa)
The Hertel Award is presented to male and female student-athletes that have won varsity letters in two sports. The recipients are selected by the coaching staff and athletic committee.

Olson lettered in basketball and golf. On the court, he received First-team All-Conference honors and set the season record in steals (81). On the course, Olson had a 77.21 season scoring average, and placed in the top 10 at three competitions.

Fisher lettered in cross country and track and field. She was the National Runner-up in the steeplechase at the 2022 Outdoor National Championships, and was a member of the National Championship distance medley relay at the 2022 Indoor National Championships. Fisher earned All-American honors in cross country with her sixth-place finish, and helped the Knights to a fourth-place team finish.

Voecks Award- Dallas Wright (Sr., Carlisle, Iowa)
The Voecks Award is given to the outstanding senior male student-athlete selected by the faculty athletic committee. The selection is based on athletic achievement, scholarship and attitude.

Wright won the 2022 National Championship in the 400m hurdles, and is a two-time champion in that event. He repeated as a CoSIDA Academic All-American. Wright is a 11-time All-American, four-time All-Region, and 21-time All-Conference honoree.
