Men's Soccer Defeat Knox College 4-2

WAVERLY, Iowa – Wartburg men's soccer (3-0-2) got back in the win column on Sunday, Sept. 11 with a 4-2 win over Knox College (1-5).
 
Scoring Summary
  • The Knights struck first after Caleb Halleran converted on a penalty kick in the 22nd minute
  • Neither side scored the rest of the first half to make it 1-0 at the break
  • Paul Devine added to the lead in the 54th minute with a goal from a free kick to make the score 2-0
  • After a long outlet pass from Connor Elumba, Kolby Fahner beat the keeper to make it 3-0 Knights
  • The Prairie Fire got on the board in the 81st minute after Sasha Esper scored from a Lucas Piqueras assist
  • In the 85th minute Knox continued its late push and scored again, this time it was Alex White unassisted
