WAVERLY, Iowa—The No. 22/23 Wartburg football team (4-0 overall, 2-0 A-R-C) defeated Dubuque (1-3, 1-1) 25-0 Saturday. This marked the first time since 1942 the Knights have won three-straight in shutout fashion.
Top Performers
- Parker Rochford tied the single game school record with three interceptions. Previously accomplished by: Kyle Kreinbring (Buena Vista), 1990, Dave Devine (Dubuque), 1999, and Josh Faaborg (Cornell), 2008
- Nile McLaughlin threw for 132 yards and two touchdowns.
- Hunter Clasen rushed for 116 yard and one touchdown
- Thomas Butters had five receptions and Ben Bryant led the team with 43 receiving yards on the day. The duo each had one TD catch.
- Rochford also led the defense with seven total tackles and two pass breakups.
Notes/streaks
- Wartburg broke the single-game school record with 5 interceptions. Previous mark of 4 was set against Illinois Wesleyan 2013, Nebraska Wesleyan 2016.
- Clasen had his second-straight 100-yard rushing game of his career.
- Clasen tied his career-high with 116 yards.
