Women's Basketball Hit 17 Three Pointers in 75-49 Win over Dubuque

DUBUQUE, Iowa – Wartburg women's basketball made 17 three pointers in a 75-49 road win over the University of Dubuque on Wednesday, Jan. 28. The Knights are now 9-0 in American Rivers Conference play and 14-4 overall.
 
Game Summary
  • First Half
    • Macy Harris scored the first four points for the Knights and the score was 4-4 after three minutes
    • Sara Faber hit the first three of the night for Wartburg and followed it with a layup the next possession to give the Knights a 9-4 lead
    • After a UD basket, Britney Young connected from three and Faber hit another three pointer to go up 15-6
    • UD scored five straight points but Wartbug closed the quarter with back to back scores and led 19-11 after one quarter
    • The Spartans hit two three's and a layup to tie the game early in the second quarter
    • After three minutes of no scoring Young, Harris, and Maggie Wilkins all hit unanswered three pointers to go up 28-19
    • Taylor Runchey took her turn from three and gave the Knights a 31-19 lead at half

    • After a two minute scoring drought to start the third quarter, Jaedon Murphy made two free throws to put the Knights up 33-19
    • Each team traded made threes and a made layup and the score was 38-24 with just over five minutes to play in the third
    • Harris, Young and Faber all made three pointers in the last five minutes of the third and the Knights led 47-30
    • Faber opened the fourth quarter with her fifth three pointer of the night to give Wartburg a 50-30 lead
    • The Knights extended their lead after two made threes from Young, one from Faber, as well as a layup from Lauren Woeste to put the Knights up 63-38 with 5:21 to play
    • Wartburg closed the game on a 12-9 run to win 75-49
