No. 3/3 Wartburg hosts Central

WAVERLY, Iowa—For the first time since 2018, No. 3/3 Wartburg (8-0 overall, 6-0 American Rivers Conference) hosts Central (6-1, 4-1) Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Series
Central holds the all-time series lead at 45-26, but Wartburg has won three of the last five meetings which includes last year's game in Pella.

Wartburg
Hunter Clasen has rushed for 951 yards and 15 touchdowns. He needs 49 yards to surpass 1,000 for the season, for the second-straight year.

Nile McLaughlin has thrown for 1,949 yards and 22 touchdowns. Drake George, Thor Maakestad, and Carter Henry all have over 400 receiving yards with 467, 441, and 422, respectively.

Owen Grover leads the defense with 74 total tackles. He became the career leader in total tackles against Coe as he broke Blake Suckow's record of 313. Jordan Downing has a team-high 10.0 TFLs and 6.5 sacks. He needs one sack to break Vince King's record of 27.5.

Ben Bryant is third in punt return yards (714) and tied for eighth in punt returns (50).

Rochford is tied for first in interception return TDs (4). Grover is first in total tackles (325), fourth in assisted tackles (149), and sixth in solo tackles (176).

Downing is second in fumbles forced (5), second in sacks (27.0), and eighth in TFLS (42.5).
