Knights edged by Scots in season opener

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The Wartburg men's basketball team (0-1 overall) narrowly fell 75-72 to Macalester (1-0) Saturday afternoon.
 
Scoring Summary
First Half
  • The Scots opened up a 15-9 lead just over three minutes into the game
  • The Scots built their lead to 24-12 with nine minutes remaining in the half
  • A Luke Ladwig jumper cut the Scots lead to 29-24 with four minutes left in the frame
  • A missed three from Ethan Yungtum at the buzzer left the Scots with a 35-27 halftime lead
  • The Knights shot 25.7% from the field and 16.7% from three in the first half
