WAVERLY, Iowa – Wartburg men's basketball fell to the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire 73-59 in a non-conference matchup on Wednesday, Dec. 6. The Knights are now 1-8 overall and remain 1-2 in American Rivers Conference play.

- Isaac Besh got the game started with a three pointer with an assist from Luke Ladwig but the Blugolds answered with a 12-2 run to take a seven point lead 5 minutes into the game
- After five straight points from Marshun Williams, UW-Eau Claire's Michael Casper connected from three to extend the Blugold lead to 22-10 just over halfway through the first half
- Gunnar Tebon three pointer gave the Blugolds their biggest lead of the game at 31-12 with 5 minutes remaining
- After five straight points from Carter Cuvelier, Garrett Hempen went 2/2 from the line to cut the Blugolds lead to 34-23 with 30 seconds left, capping off a 11-3 Knights run to end the half

- The Blugolds got back ahead by 17 points before Trent Allard, Williams and Gabe Trujillo all scored to lead Wartburg on a run that was capped off by a Cuvelier layup that brought the Knights to within 48-41 with 13 minutes to play
- A Nolan Blair jumper capped off an 11-0 Blugolds run to give put them back ahead 59-41 lead with 10 minutes to play
- Besh and Drake Wemark both made a three pointer to cut the lead to 11 late in the second half, but Wartburg was unable to come within 10 points the rest of the game as UW-Eau Claire held on for a 73-59 win
