PELLA, Iowa - Wartburg women's basketball won 65-57 over Central College on the road Wednesday, Feb. 8. The win moves Wartburg to 18-4 overall and 13-0 in American Rivers Conference play.
Game Summary
- First Quarter
- Wartburg jumped out to a 9-0 lead two and a half minutes into the game after a layup from Macy Harris and seven points from Sara Faber
- Central got on the board with a three with 6:08 to play in the first, but the Knights answered with layups from Harris and Taylor Runchey
- Both Faber and Jaedon Murphy made threes, but the Dutch closed the lead to 19-13 with 1:22 to go

- Maggie Wilkins scored and then after over a minute of scoreless play Murphy made a three to put Wartburg up 41-20
- Central answered with five straight points, but Young ended the run with her fourth three of the game
- The Knights scored five straight with a three from Murphy and a layup from Faber to take a 50-30 lead, but Central scored the last five points of the quarter to make the score 50-35 heading to the fourth
- Fourth Quarter
- Wilkins made a three just under a minute into the fourth and then both teams were held scoreless the next minute and a half before Central connected on a three
- The Dutch made another three with 6:33 left to play that made the score 52-41 Wartburg still in front
- Central got within nine points with just under six minutes to play, but Harris answered with a layup to but the Knights back up 11
- After free throws from Murphy and Runchey, Central made a three with 2:50 left but Murphy answered with a three of her own to put Wartburg up 61-49
- The Knights closed the game at the free throw line for a 65-57 win
