CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa-- The Wartburg softball team (21-16 overall) advanced in the American Rivers Conference Tournament with its 6-2 win over Loras (21-15) Friday afternoon.
The Duhawks got on the board in the top of the third with one run on a wild pitch. They extended the lead to 2-0 with an RBI single.
In the bottom the frame,
Hannah Happ scored on
Kaylie Springer's single down the left field line. The next batter,
Sydney Illg, hit a two-run sinlge through the right side to take the 3-2 lead.
The Knights used two sacrifice flies in the bottom of the fourth to make it 5-2. Happ later scored on a throwing error to give the Orange and Black the 6-2 lead.
