No. 12/13 Wartburg defeats Simpson 46-21 on Homecoming

WAVERLY, Iowa—The No. 12/13 Wartburg football team (5-1 overall, 3-0 American Rivers) defeated Simpson (3-4, 2-3) 46-21 Saturday in the annual Homecoming game.

Top performers: Notes:
  • This marked Wartburg's 22nd-straight win over a conference opponent, to extend the streak
  • This was the 15th-straight ARC opponent that Wartburg has held under 100 yards rushing
  • Simpson's two yards rushing was the fewest Wartburg has given up in a game since giving up -20 yards to Simpson in week four of last season
  • Wartburg has scored a defensive touchdown in its last four games
  • The Knights' 293 rushing yards were the most in a game since rushing for 332 vs Monmouth in week one of last season and the most against an ARC opponent since rushing for 321 against Nebraska Wesleyan in week 7 of 2021
  • The Storm had only one rushing first down on the day
  • career-high rushing yards for Rud
  • Carter Henry has a touchdown catch in three consecutive games
