No. 12/13 Wartburg travels to face No. 21 Coe

WAVERLY, Iowa-- The No. 12/13 Wartburg football team (5-1 overall, 4-0 American Rivers) travels to face No. 21 Coe (7-0, 5-0) Saturday at 1 p.m. Coe is ranked in the AFCA top 25 poll.

The Series
Wartburg owns the series lead at 28-13, which includes the last six-straight meetings. This will mark the first contest where both teams are ranked in either the D3football.com or the AFCA polls.

Dawson Rud leads the team on the ground with 485 yards and five touchdowns. Four teammates join him above 100 yards with Joey Anderson follows at 210, Carter Markham at 125, Ben Bryant at 123, and Bricen White at 115.

Quarterback Markham has thrown for 1,221 yards and 13 TDs. Drake George leads the receiving group with 26 catches for three touchdowns and is second with 300 yards. 

Carter Henry has a team-high 367 yards on 26 catches for four TDs. 

Keenan Tyler leads the defense with 63 tackles. Conner McDonald has a team-high 5.0 TFLs and 3.5 sacks.

Career Record Watch 
George is first in pass receptions (193), sixth in pass reception yards (2,280), and sixth in pass reception TDs (20). Carter Henry is eighth in pass reception yards (1,843) and ninth in pass receptions (120).

O'Neill is second in field goals (26), tied for third in PATs (148) and eighth in points (231). Ben Bryant is first in punt return yards (958) and second in punt returns (76). 

Parker Rochford is tied for first in interception return TDs (4), tied for fourth in interceptions (16), and tied for seventh in pass breakups (26).

Nate Link is tied for seventh in fumble returns (2) and Justin Grieff is seventh in quarterback hurries (9).

They rank first in defensive touchdowns (4), fourth in rushing defense (45.3), 11th in net punting (38.89), 11th in blocked punts (2), 19th in rushing offense (214.8), 22nd in winning percentage (.883), 28th in blocked kicks (3), 33rd in first downs offense (136) and total offense (439.0), 37th in punt return defense (2.80), 39th in team passing efficiency (162.14), 41st in passes intercepted (8), 44th in 4rd down conversion percentage (.449) and completion percentage (.652).

The Knights have four individual athletes who rank in the top 50 in various national rankings.
 
Carter Markham ranks 38th in passing efficiency (164.4), 44th in yards per pass attempt (8.60), 48th in completion percentage (.662), and 50th in passing touchdowns (13).
 
Keenan Tyler ranks 14th in solo tackles (5.8), ninth in total tackles (10.5).
 
Ben Bryant ranks 32nd in punt returns (8.3)
 
Dawson Rud ranks 14th in rush yards per carry (6.83).

Against the A-R-C
In conference games, Wartburg leads the league in A-R-C contest in scoring average (40.0), total yards/game (456.0), rushing yards/game (271.8), fewest rushing yards/game allowed (36.0), and are tied for first in punting average (42.3).

Dawson Rud is second in rushing TDs (5) and average rushing yards (108.5/game), third in rushing yards (434), and fifth in points (30).

Keenan Tyler is first in solo tackles (26) and second in total tackles (44). O'Neill is second in PATs (17) and field goals (3). 

 Jaxson Hoppes is second in punting average (43.7).

Bryant leads the conference in punt return yards (80) and punt returns (9). Thane Alexander is tied for first in interceptions (2).

Coe
Trenton Barnes has rushed for 856 yards and eight scores. Quarterback Clay Krousie has thrown for 1,220 yards and 14 TDs. His top target has been Jeron Senters with 42 catches for 608 yards and eight TDs.

Sam Shaw leads the defense with 45 total tackles. Alex Aitchison has a team-best 10.5 TFLs and 6.0 sacks.
