Women's Soccer Close Regular Season With a 4-0 Win over Buena Vista

STORM LAKE, Iowa – Women's soccer closed the regular season with a 4-0 shutout over Buena Vista University on the road Tuesday, Oct. 29. The Knights finish the regular season with an overall record of 9-6-3 and an American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) record of 5-2-1.

  • First Half
    • Claudia Sewell and Nikayla Youngblut both had shots on goal saved by BVU in the opening five minutes of play
    • In the sixth minute, Lauren Kirkle sent a corner kick near the goal where Maddy Badding was able to put the ball into the back of the net for a score to give Wartburg an early 1-0 lead
    • Maya Anderson and Sami Webster both had shots saved in the following minutes
    • The Knights added to their lead in the 32nd minute when Allison Smith found an open Kenna Hemann who fired a shot in for a goal to make it 2-0
    • Alena Miller made a save for the Knights in goal and the score remained 2-0 headed into halftime
  • Second Half
    • Sewell, Webster and Natalie Thiesfeld all had shot attempts saved by the Beavers early into the second half
    • Webster added another goal to the Knights' total after scoring with an assist from Ellianna Trilling in the 54th minute
    • After a pass from Abigail Milburn, Izzy Sash tacked on a goal in the 67th minute to make it 4-0
    • Tulla Jensen made a save in the 83rd minute and the score remained 4-0 for a Wartburg win
