Belton, Texas – No. 2/2 women's basketball (8-1, 3-0 A-R-C) fell to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (8-2) 67-64 on the road in the Mary Hardin-Baylor Classic on Tuesday, Dec. 17.

- First Quarter
- Sara Faber got the scoring started with back-to-back baskets in the paint to give Wartburg a 4-0 lead after two minutes of play
- Lauren Woeste scored the next four points for Wartburg and the Knights led 8-4 halfway through the quarter
- Britney Young connected on a three pointer assisted by Faber and then Faber scored the next five Wartburg points to stretch the lead to 16-4
- Young hit another three followed by baskets from Jaedon Murphy and Woeste to make the score 23-10 after the first quarter
- Second Quarter
- Murphy opened the second quarter with a three pointer followed by a three-point play from Faber to push the lead to 19
- UMHB went on an 11-4 run to cut Wartburg's lead to 33-21 before a Murphy jumper stopped the run
- With less than three minutes remaining in the half, the Crusaders cut the lead to 11 before Faber made a three to extend the lead back to 14
- Faber scored two points at the free throw line and then found Young for her third three of the half to give Wartburg a 45-31 lead at halftime

- Third Quarter
- The second half began as a defensive battle as neither team was able to score in the first four minutes of the half
- Faber scored the first Wartburg points of the second half with a three-point play that put Wartburg ahead 48-35 with 4:40 left in the third
- Maggie Wilkins found Murphy for a three pointer and then Woeste made two free throws to push the lead to 53-37
- The Crusaders closed the third quarter on a 10-0 run to make the score 53-47, Wartburg still in front
- Fourth Quarter
- UMHB scored the first four points of the fourth to force a Wartburg timeout and make it 53-51 with 8:33 left to play
- The Crusaders went on an 11-3 run that gave UMHB a 62-56 lead with 4:02 left to play
- Murphy connected with a three pointer to cut the lead to four with under two minutes left and then cut the lead to two with a layup with under 15 seconds to play
- The Crusaders went 1/2 from the free throw line to give Wartburg the ball with eight seconds left in the game trailing 67-64
- Wartburg's three point shot to tie the game was no good and the Crusaders held off Wartburg for a win
