PELLA, Iowa – No. 2/2 women's basketball (8-0, 3-0 A-R-C) moved its winning streak to eight games after defeating Central College (6-4, 1-2 A-R-C) – in an American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) matchup on Saturday, Dec. 7.

- First Quarter
- After three minutes of play, Wartburg led Central 8-2 following a layup from Lauren Woeste, a three pointer from Jaedon Murphy and a three-point play from Sara Faber
- A Central three pointer cut the Wartburg lead to three points, but Murphy and Faber responded with makes of their own behind the arc to keep the Knights in front 14-5 with four minutes left in the first quarter
- Central went on a 11-3 run to close the quarter down 17-16
- A Britney Young three pointer was the Knights' only points during the run
- Second Quarter
- After each side traded baskets to begin the quarter, Maggie Wilkins found Young for her second three pointer of the game to keep Wartburg in front 22-18

- The Knights closed the half on a 11-2 run that was capped off by a Grace Hennessy three pointer before the halftime buzzer

- Woeste scored the first basket of the half for the Knights and then Faber made a three pointer the following possession to put Wartburg ahead by 12 points
- Both Murphy and Woeste scored the next seven points for the Knights to make the score 49-34 with 4:13 left in the third quarter
- Jenna Saunders assisted Bearbower's second three pointer of the game and then Murphy completed a three-point play to push the Wartburg lead over 20 points with under two minutes in the quarter

- Central scored the first five points of the fourth and Wartburg led 56-14 after four minutes of play
- The Knights brought the lead back up to 20 when Hennessy and Faber each scored five points over two minutes of play
- Murphy, Woeste and Young each scored in the final minutes to close out a 71-73 win over the Dutch
