No. 10/11 Knights Win 93-41 Over Nebraska Wesleyan University

LINCOLN, Nebraska – No. 10/11 women's basketball grabbed win number 20 on the season as they defeated Nebraska Wesleyan 93-41 Saturday afternoon. The Knights move to 20-2 overall and 13-0 in American Rivers Conference play.
 
Game Summary
  • First Half
    • First Quarter
      • Britney Young converted on a three-point play to score the first points of the game and then layups by Jaedon Murphy and Taylor Runchey minutes later put the Knights up 7-2 early
      • Sara Faber scored her first points of the game on a three-pointer followed by a three-pointer from Murphy to push the lead to 11
      • Grace Hennessy joined the scoring knocking down two three pointers while Murphy made a pair of free throws to give the Knights a 22-7 lead after one
    • Second Quarter
      • Wartburg went on a 15-7 run to start the second led by Lauren Golinghorst with five and three-pointers from Natalie Bearbower and Faber
      • A Knights 13-0 run over the next 2:42 extended the lead to 34 with two minutes remaining in the half
        • Golinghorst made a deep ball followed by two from Young, Murphy and Woeste each added two
      • Woeste added two free throws at the end of the half to send the Knights into halftime leading 52-20
  • Second Half
    • Third Quarter
      • Young started a 10-0 Wartburg run with six of her own followed by free throws from Lauren Donlea and Woeste
      • Golinghorst converted a three-point play followed by a three-pointer from Hennessy a few possessions later
      • Golinghorst made a layup before the Knights went scoreless over the final four minutes and take a 71-28 lead into the fourth
    • Fourth Quarter
      • Bearbower connected on a triple to start the final quarter for the Knights, which Olivia Baxter followed with a layup to make it 76-32
      • Hennessy made her fourth three-pointer of the day to spark a 7-2 run over the next two minutes with Ava Trettin adding three points of her own
      • The Knights finish the game on a 10-7 run with eight points scored at the line to win 93-41
