Softball hits the road for Four A-R-C Games this Week

DUBUQUE, Iowa – The Wartburg softball team (20-11 overall, 6-2 conference) is set to play a double header against Loras College on Tuesday, April 23 and a double header against Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday, April 27 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Games are set for 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Tuesday and 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday.

Loras
Since 2012, Wartburg is 15-9 in the series against the Duhawks. The Knights won two of the three meetings in 2023.

Nebraska Wesleyan
Since 2017, the Knights are 11-4 in the series against the Prairie Wolves. Wartburg is 1-3 against Nebraska Wesleyan when playing in Lincoln.

Wartburg is 135-152 on stolen bases this season. Springer leads the team with 30 steals on 31 attempts. Seven other Knights have 10+ stolen bases on the season.

Ashley Nelson leads all pitchers with 59 strikeouts over 78.2 innings pitched. Nelson has recorded nine wins and four saves this season. Hannah Luellen has a team low 4.21 ERA over 16 appearances.

Ashlyn Hemm leads all pitchers with 91 strikeouts over 81.2 innings pitched. Hemm has a team low 1.65 ERA over 15 appearances. Hemm has recorded eight wins and 10 complete games this season.
 
Nebraska Wesleyan
The Prairie Wolves enter the week with an overall record of 24-7 and an American Rivers Conference record of 7-3. Nebraska Wesleyan will face Coe in an A-R-C matchup on Tuesday night.

Lyndsey Roth leads the Prairie Wolves with a .429 batting average, followed by Val Gerlach at .378 and Hanna Roth at .364. Amber Kosmicki (.345), Paige Davison (.333) and Jenna Kimberling (.324) round out six Prairie Wolves batting above .300.

Lyndsey Roth and Hanna Roth co-lead the team with 36 hits each and lead the team in runs with 34 and 31, respectively. Taylor Korecky leads all players with four home runs and Sami MacDonald leads all players in RBI with 27.

Elise Warneke leads all pitchers with 84 strikeouts over 103.1 innings pitched. Warneke has recorded 14 wins over 22 appearances and has 11 complete games this season. Eva Fahrnbruch has a team low 2.35 ERA through 14 appearances.
