INDIANOLA, Iowa – No. 2/11 Wartburg women's basketball continued American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) play on the road today against Simpson College with a 61-49 win on Saturday, Jan. 4. The win moves the Knights to 11-2 overall and 4-0 in A-R-C play, while Simpson falls to 6-7 overall and 2-2 in A-R-C play.

- Sara Faber and Lauren Golinghorst got the Knights on the scoreboard with baskets in the paint

- Simpson cut the lead to 42-38 with 4:23 left in the third, but Murphy connected on another three and scored a basket in the paint to push the Knights' lead to 47-38
- Murphy and Faber each scored in the final two minutes to give Wartburg a 51-40 lead after three quarters
- Fourth Quarter
- The Knights continued to add to the lead when Natalie Bearbower scored at the free throw line and Woeste added a layup to push the lead 14
- Following Simpson's first points of the fourth, Faber responded with a three pointer followed by a steal and score the next possession to give Wartburg a 59-42 lead with 6:11 left in the game
- Woeste scored the final two points for the Knights as Wartburg closed out a 61-49 win on the road
