WAVERLY, Iowa – Men's basketball won its third-straight game to move to 5-1 after a dominant 96-65 showing at home over Principia College on Tuesday, Nov. 25.
The Knights were led by a career-high 28 points from
Austin Bienemann, who also tallied three steals and three blocks on the defensive side of the ball.

- First Half
- Bienemann scored the first five points of the game for Wartburg to give the Knights a 5-2 lead after three minutes of play
- Luke Ladwig scored the next six points for the Knights after three baskets in the paint to make the score 11-7 with just over 13 minutes remaining in the half
- The Panthers made a three to take a 12-11 lead, but the Knights stormed back with a 7-0 run after four points from Jamison Poe and three from Ethan Yungtum to make the score 18-12
- After Principia cut the Wartburg lead to 18-17, the Knights got scores from Gabe Trujillo, Cael Schramm and Giovanni St Onge to extend the lead to 25-19 with 5:38 left in the first half
- The Knights continued to add on to the lead over the next three minutes after a three pointer from Lyle Olsen and scores from Yungtum, St. Onge and Ladwig brought the Wartburg lead to 10
- Wartburg closed the half on a 11-2 run led by seven points from Bienemann and another thee from Olsen
- The Knights led 44-25 at the break
- Second Half
- Wartburg opened the second half with a steal on the inbounds pass by Ladwig that led to a dunk in transition for Bienemann
- Yungtum and Bienemann combined to score the next 11 Wartburg points to push the Knights' lead to 57-33 with 16:30 left to play
- The Knights continued to attack the Panther defense over the next six minutes of play as Bienemann, Poe and Yungtum combined for a 12-7 Wartburg run that kept them in front 69-42
- A Bienemann dunk with 8:10 left to play put Wartburg ahead 75-47 and then just over a minute later Olsen connected on his third three pointer of the game to make it a 30-point lead
- The Knights were able to show off some depth in the lineup in the final minutes of the game with scores from: Brody Bauer, Schramm, Mason Matson, Clay Nielsen, Evan Gray, Dominic Braet and Drew Britson
