Men's Soccer Fall in A-R-C Tournament Final 1-0 to Luther

DECORAH, Iowa – Men's soccer fell to Luther College 1-0 on the road in today's American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Tournament championship match.
 
Match Summary
  • First Half
    • Flori Gembo recorded the first shot on goal of the contest in the eighth minute that was saved by Luther
    • Following a Luther corner kick, Joseph Svoboda made his first save of the match for the Knights in the 12th minute
    • The Norse struck first on the scoreboard in the 13th minute following a free kick that was deflected high into the sky and found its way to Lindenberg for a header into the net
    • Gembo tried to answer with a goal of his own minutes later, but the attempt was saved by the Norse
    • Both Alima Mmunga and Landon Hartsell had shots that were off target for the Knights and the score remained 1-0 through 35 minutes
    • Hunter Yeatts and Blake Halleran each had off target shots that kept the score at 1-0 at halftime
  • Second Half
    • Luther controlled possession early into the second half, but the Knights were able to keep the Norse from any shots on goal
    • Both Mmunga and Carson Kay had shots miss the target in the 67th and 68th minutes
    • Mmunga, Gembo and Lwings Kabula all had shots recorded in the final 20 minutes of play, but Luther's defense didn't allow any shots on goal to hold off Wartburg 1-0
