WAVERLY, Iowa – No. 14 women's basketball was defeated at home 70-49 in a top-15 nationally ranked matchup against No. 8/10 Johns Hopkins University on Saturday, Nov. 8.

- First Half
- First Quarter
- Both defenses came out of the gate playing hard and didn't allow any points in the first two minutes of the game
- Each team got to the free throw line over the next minute as Katie Boulanger made both for the Knights to give Wartburg a 2-1 lead early
- Both Grace Hennessy and Maddie Pavelka scored baskets for Wartburg to make the score 6-3 with 5:55 left in the quarter
- Emma Townsley and Hennessy each added two free throws for Wartburg to push the lead to 10-5
- Pavelka added one free throw and Reagan Pagniano made a driving score, but the Blue Jays cut the Wartburg lead down to 13-12 after the first
- Second Quarter
- Boulanger opened the second quarter with a basket in the paint, but Johns Hopkins stormed back with a 15-0 run that spanned over four minutes of game clock
- JHU led 27-15 before a three pointer from Hennessy stopped the run and made the score 27-18 with 4:10 left in the half
- Lauren Golinghorst was able to connect on a three pointer and then Townsley ended the half with a driving layup, but the Blue Jays led 34-23 at the half following a 22-10 second quarter from JHU

- Third Quarter
- Johns Hopkins opened the half on a 12-3 run to make the score 46-26 with just under five minutes left in the third
- Boulanger and Hennessy each scored for Wartburg during the run
- Laynee Hogan and Boulanger each made free throws in the final minutes of the quarter to cut into the Johns Hopkins run
- Hennessy connected on another triple to close the third quarter trailing 56-33
- Fourth Quarter
- Hennessy stayed hot from behind the arc to begin the fourth as she scored two more three pointers to cut the lead to 19 points with 7:30 to play
- Boulanger and Hogan each scored for the Knights over the next three minutes, but JHU continued to control the game with a 64-46 lead with under five minutes to play
- Pagniano made a three pointer during the final possession for the Knights to make the final score 70-49
