DUBUQUE, Iowa – Men's basketball was unable to mount a comeback on the road today as the Knights fell to Loras College 91-79 in American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) play on Saturday, Dec. 13.
Cael Schramm and Ehtan Yungtum both recorded double doubles for Wartburg.
The Knights are now 7-2 overall and 2-1 in A-R-C play, while Loras moves to 7-1 overall and 3-0 in A-R-C play.

- First Half
- Austin Bienemann got the scoring started for the Knights with two early scores in the paint to put Wartburg in front 4-2 after three minutes of play
- Cael Schramm, Luke Ladwig and Ethan Yungtum each scored to keep the Knights in front of Loras 9-6
- Drake Wemark scored in the paint and Mason Matson connected on a three pointer for Wartburg, but Loras went on a 12-5 run to open a 18-14 lead with 9:14 left in the first half
- Yungtum scored four of Wartburg's next five points, but the Duhawks continued to hold a 24-19 lead with just over five minutes remaining in the half

- Wemark, Trujillo and Schramm each scored two points in the first three minutes of the second half to cut the Loras lead to 39-37
- Just over a minute later, both Trujillo and Ladwig each made a go-ahead three for the Knights but Loras was able to regain a 45-43 lead with 14:29 left in the game
- Loras opened up the lead to nine points over the next three minutes after a 10-3 run
- Schramm scored six of the next eight Wartburg points to cut the Loras lead back down to six with just over nine minutes remaining
- Wartburg continued to fight over the next three minutes of play, but Loras was able to keep outscoring the Knights and held a 70-62 lead
- The Duhawks outscored Wartburg 16-10 over the next three minutes to take a 86-72 lead with 2:45 left to play
- Schramm scored six of the 10 points along with scores from Trujillo and Ladwig
- Matson and Poe combined for seven points in the final minutes, but Loras was able to hold off Wartburg for a 91-79 win
