12 Knights Score in 55 Point Win Over Foresters

WAVERLY, Iowa – The Wartburg women's basketball team (5-6, 2-1 A-R-C) opened up the Wartburg Holiday Tournament today with a 81-26 home victory over Lake Forest College (2-8, 0-2 MWC). Corrie Harrison led the Knights with 17 points.

      • Grace Hennessy gave the Knights the first bucket of the quarter with a turn-around jumper.
      • The Foresters scored their lone basket of the quarter on a three to cut the Knights lead to 25-12. The Knights responded with a 17-0 run.
      • Maddie Pavelka kick-started the Knights run with a layup. Three pointers from Carly Rich, Reagan Pagniano, and Emma Townley gave the Knights a 36-12 lead.
      • The Knights closed the half with buckets from Corrie Harrison, Lauren Donlea, and Katie Boulanger.
      • The Knights went into the half with a 42-12 lead. The Knights displayed a balanced scoring attack with nine players in the scoring column.

      • Corrie Harrison got the scoring started for the Knights on a layup assisted by Emma Townsley.
      • The Knights went on a 7-0 run to extend the lead to 51-16. The run featured a three-point play from Katie Boulanger, layup from Corrie Harrison, and free throw's from Ally Poegel
      • The Knights closed the quarter on a 14-0 run to extend the lead to 67-20. Corrie Harrison scored seven of the Knights during the run and led all scorers with 15 points.
