WAVERLY, Iowa – Women's basketball opened this season's American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) slate Wednesday, Dec. 3 with a 64-46 win over Luther College inside Levick Arena.
The Knights were powered by a 32-18 second half after leading by just four at halftime.

- First Quarter
- Lauren Golinghorst scored first for the Knights with a score in the paint, but Luther led 6-2 after one minute following a three-point play and a three pointer
- Emma Townsley scored minutes later to cut the Luther lead to two, but after two and a half minutes of scoreless play Luther added two more baskets to make the score 10-4 with 2:49 left in the first quarter
- Lauren Donlea found an open Grace Hennessy for a three pointer and then Katie Boulanger closed the first quarter scoring with a steal and layup to make the score 13-9
- Second Quarter
- Scores from Golinghorst, Donlea and a three pointer from Hennessy brought the Knights deficit to 17-16 after two and a half minutes of play
- Golinghorst connected on a three pointer to tie the game up at 19-19 and then minutes later Carly Rich drilled a three to tie the game at 24-24 with 4:27 left in the half
- After Luther built a four-point lead, Golinhorst responded with five-straight points to put Wartburg in front 29-28 with just over three minutes to play in the first half
- Boulanger and Reagan Pagniano both scored to close out the half for Wartburg as the Knights took a 32-28 lead into the break
- Second Half
- Third Quarter
- The Knights stormed out of half on a 11-0 run behind five points from Hennessy and scores from Boulanger and Golinghorst to give Wartburg a 43-28 lead
- Luther stopped the run with a three pointer, but a Wartburg layup from Townsley followed by another three pointer from Golinghorst put the Knights in front 49-31 with 4:56 left in the third
- Each team traded scores in the final minutes of the third quarter to make the score 53-36 through three quarters
- Fourth Quarter
- Luther connected on a three pointer with 7:56 left in the fourth and then Hennessy answered for the Knights with her fourth three of the game to make the score 56-39 halfway through the quarter
- Maddie Pavelka and Donlea both scored for the Knights to keep Wartburg in front 60-41
- Both Pagniano and Boulanger connected on free throws in the final minutes to make the final score Wartburg 64, Luther 46.
