No. 11/12 Women's Basketball Rout Simpson 65-46; Faber Sets Career Steal Record

WAVERLY, Iowa – No. 11/12 women's basketball continued its American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) dominance with a 65-46 win over Simpson College on Saturday, Feb. 1 to move to 11-0 in A-R-C play and 18-2 overall. In today's win, Sara Faber recorded three steals to set a new career record for steals at Wartburg with 228 in her career.

    • First Quarter
      • The Knights got on the scoreboard first when Faber found an open Lauren Donlea for a three pointer
      • The Knights opened the game on a 10-1 run through the first five minutes of play
      • Wartburg closed a dominant first quarter on a 12-3 run led by four points from Jaedon Murphy to take a 22-5 lead after one quarter
        • Faber and Young both made three pointers during the run
    • Second Quarter
      • Woeste scored the first basket of the second quarter after just over three minutes of scoreless play

      • After two free throws from Simpson, The Knights closed the third quarter on an 11-0 run that pushed Wartburg's lead to 55-20 after three quarters
    • Fourth Quarter
      • Woeste scored the first two points for Wartburg in the final quarter and then minutes later Faber connected on her fourth three pointer of the game to make the score 60-29 with 5:26 left to play
      • Maggie Wilkins, Seaman and Murphy all scored in the final minutes to put the final touches on a 65-46 win over Simpson
