Walton Homers in 7-3 Loss to Concordia Chicago

AUBRUNDALE, Fla. – Baseball fell to the University of Concordia Chicago 7-3 on Saturday, Mar. 7 in the RussMatt Invitational. The Knights are now 4-3 overall and Concordia Chicago moves to.6-5 overall.
 
Game Summary
  • 2nd Inning
    • The Knights loaded the bases with two out after a Gehrig Turner single and back-to-back walks from Liam Bender and Caleb Andrews, but Concordia Chicago got out of the jam to prevent any runs from coming across
  • 4th Inning
    • Each side remained scoreless through four innings and Logan Sullivan had five strikeouts on the mound for the Knights
  • 5th Inning
    • Concordia was the first on the scoreboard when three runs came across in the bottom of the fifth after a sacrifice fly and then a two-RBI single
  • 7th Inning
    • Wartburg cut into the deficit in the top of the seventh when Zach Walton homered to make the score 3-2 headed to the bottom of the seventh
    • The Cougars got one run back in the bottom half to make the score 4-2
