CLEVELAND, Ohio-- Wartburg College ranked 16th in the winter standings of the Learfield Directors' Cup for NCAA Division III, the National Association of Collegiate Directors of America (NACDA) organization announced today. There are 450 schools that compete in NCAA Division III.
The Knights have finished in the Top 25 in 20 of the last 22 years and have finished as high as seventh in 2002-03.
The Orange and Black earned 429 points to date: 95 for men's wrestling, 90 points for men's cross country, 64 for football, 50 for women's basketball, 48 for women's cross country, 36 for women's indoor track and field, 25 for men's soccer, and 21 for men's indoor track and field.
Johns Hopkins leads the Directors' Cup with 865 points.
The Learfield Sports Directors' Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today. Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 18 sports - nine women's and nine men's.
