ST. PETER, Minn. – Wartburg baseball closed the 2025 regular season with a doubleheader split against Concordia College (Minn.) on Saturday, May 3. The Knights took game one 15-5 in seven innings and then fell in game two 8-7.
Wartburg is now 20-18 overall, while Concordia moves to 19-20 overall.

- Game One
- Second Inning
- Keegan Schmitt led off the second inning with a double to left field and was eventually brought home by Griffin Troha to give Wartburg a 1-0 lead early
- Fourth Inning
- Emerson Alberhasky finished off three hitless innings on the mound for Wartburg headed to the top of the fourth
- Zach Walton reached base to begin the fourth inning and was brought home by an RBI single from Schmitt to make it 2-0
- Following a single from Troha, Charlie Krueger doubled to bring home two more runners and extend the lead to 4-0
- Kruegar scored later in the inning after a Wiley Sullivan RBI, but Concordia got one run back following two Wartburg errors in the bottom half to make it 5-1
- Fifth Inning
- Walton and Carter Stubitz both singled in the fifth before eventually being brought home by another RBI from Schmitt followed by a two RBI double from Sullivan that extended the Knights' lead to 8-1
- Three hits in the bottom of the fifth led to one more run from the Cobbers to cut the lead to 8-2
- Sixth Inning
- Eliot Jurgensen singled and then stole second before being hit home by an RBI single from Walton
- Schmitt continued his monster game at the plate with a huge three-run blast to right center field that gave Wartburg a 12-2 lead after the top of the sixth
- Seventh Inning
- Wartburg added three runs in the final inning after Sullivan advanced home on a wild pitch and Jurgensen belted a two-run home run to left center field to put the Knights ahead 15-2
- Concordia brought three runs across in the seventh inning off four hits, but was held off for a 15-5 win
- Game Two
- Second Inning
- Concordia scored first in game two after a leadoff double to begin the second inning led to three hits and two runs to put Wartburg in an early 2-0 hole
- Fourth Inning
- Following another leadoff double, the Cobbers hit a home run to right field to push their lead to 4-0 after the top of the fourth inning
- Wartburg got on the board in the bottom half when Stubitz smacked a no-doubt homer to right field to make the score 4-1
- Fifth Inning
- The Knights rallied for five runs in the fifth inning to take a 6-4 lead after hits from Gehrig Turner, Andrew Robinson, Walton and Stubitz
- Jurgensen, Walton (double) and Stubitz (double) recorded RBI for Wartburg in the fifth
- Sixth Inning
- After a another leadoff double from Ben Shumansk, Concordia cut the deficit in half after a sacrifice flyout scored one run and made the score 6-5
- Turner singled and was brought home by a sacrifice flyout from Jayden Scott to put Wartburg in front 7-5
- Eighth Inning
- The Cobbers continued to cut away at the deficit in the eighth inning after one scored following a leadoff double from Shumansk (his third of the game, team fourth)
- Ninth Inning
- With two outs and two runners in the top of the ninth, Concordia hit a shallow blooper between the infield and center field that led to a Wartburg error that brought home both Cobber runners to give Concordia an 8-7 lead
- Wartburg was unable to score in the final frame to close out an 8-7 loss
