WAVERLY, Iowa – Women's basketball (7-6, 3-1 A-R-C) kicked off 2026 with a 75-42 American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) victory over Nebraska Wesleyan University (3-10, 0-4 A-R-C) inside Levick Arena Saturday, Jan. 3.
Grace Hennessy (five, career high) and
Katie Boulanger (four) combined for nine made three pointers in the Knights' win.

- Wartburg jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two minutes of play following a free throw from Katie Boulanger and a three pointer from Grace Hennessy
- The Prairie Wolves tied the game at 4-4 with 5:23 left in the quarter before Hennessy buried another three pointer to give the Knights a 7-4 lead
- Wartburg outscored NWU 10-5 in the final five minutes after three pointers from Hennessy and Katelyn Aden along with scores from Boulanger and Corrie Harrison

- Aden and Boulanger each made three pointers in the final minutes of the first half to put Wartburg ahead 38-23 at halftime

- Third Quarter
- Wartburg continued to build its lead out of the halftime break with a 9-2 run to give the Knights a 47-25 lead
- Lauren Donlea made a three pointer as well as scores from Harrison, Townsley and Boulanger
- Following a short scoring draught, both Laynee Hogan and Harrison each made layups before Boulanger connected on another three pointer to make the score 54-28
- Boulanger made two free throws to end the third quarter scoring and Wartburg held a 56-28 lead heading into the final quarter
- Fourth Quarter
- Aden started the fourth quarter with a steal and layup before Hennessy knocked down her fifth three pointer of the game and Boulanger made her fourth three pointer of the game to put the Knights in front 64-30 after three minutes
- The Knights continued to add to their lead over the next three minutes of play to with scores from Finley Fitzgerald, Townsley and Boulanger
- NWU closed the game on a 9-0 run to make the final score 75-42 in favor of Wartburg
