Wartburg College Athletics

INDIANOLA, Iowa — Wartburg (6-1 Overall, 2-1 American Rivers) defeated Simpson College (3-4 Overall, 0-1 American Rivers) 7-0 on Friday. The Knights swept all three doubles matches to secure the doubles point. They added victories at each of the six singles positions to complete the shutout.

The Knights earned the doubles point by sweeping the three completed doubles matches. Brooke Bloom and Morgan Kathman defeated Grace Peck and Jordan Lee 6-2 at No. 1 doubles, Kaitlyn Olson and Kendall Olson beat Natalie Collins and Larkin McMorris 6-1 at No. 2, and Abi Peyman and Riley McClellan won 6-4 over Coilee Hynek and Gracie Thompson at No. 3.

The Knights carried the lead into singles and won all six courts in straight sets. Kathman defeated Grace Peck 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, Bloom beat Jordan Lee 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2, and Kendall Olson won 6-2, 6-2 over Coilee Hynek at No. 3.

Kaitlyn Olson added a 6-4, 6-2 victory over Bella Sims at No. 4 singles, Abi Peyman defeated Natalie Collins 6-2, 6-0 at No. 5, and Josie Sjoquist beat Larkin McMorris 6-1, 6-0 at No. 6.
