CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa -- Freshman return specialist Drew Hobart of the Wartburg College football team has been named the American Rivers Conference (A-R-C) Special Teams Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Hobart (Mason City, Iowa/Mason City) totaled 119 yards on three kickoff returns in his collegiate debut against No. 4-ranked UW-River Falls last Saturday, including an 89-yard touchdown return. Hobart's house-call marked Wartburg's first kickoff return for a touchdown since JoJo McNair's 100-yard return against Loras on Oct. 9, 2021.

The 89-yard return highlighted a standout collegiate debut for Hobart, who provided the Knights with a spark in the return game against the defending national champions.

The honor marks Hobart's first career A-R-C Special Teams Player of the Week award and the Knights' second weekly conference honor of the season.
